Last December, the 37-year-old lifestyle influencer was accused of pretending to be Spanish after it was revealed that her actual name is Hillary - and that she was actually born in Boston, not Majorca.

Now, her long-term friend Salma, 54, has said that “we all lie a little bit” after fans discovered the truth around Hilaria’s upbringing.

Sharing her thoughts on the global scandal, the Hollywood actress said the online abuse that Hilaria suffered as a result of her fibs was ‘crazy’.

The former Ugly Betty actress went on to defend Hilaria by insisting that she’s the best mother to her five children, and the best wife to husband Alec Baldwin.

Salma also admitted that she’s not willing to judge the yoga instructor for one minor mistake, before adding that she actually feels quite flattered that the star longs to be from a Latina background.

“You know, I don’t care. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to betray or hurt anybody’s feelings, and I don’t know if it’s right or if it’s wrong. I’m not going to judge somebody just because of that one thing.”

Despire several attempts to clear her name, things took a turn for the worst last month when The Mom Brain podcaster tried to take control of the situation by telling the world more about her upbringing.
