At the end of Wednesday season 1, Wednesday succeeded in taking down the reincarnated Joseph Crackstone and his descendant Laurel Gates aka Marilyn Thornhill, however, the latter's fate wasn't entirely clear, making her return a major possibility in Wednesday season 2.

 Wednesday is a mystery series with one season out of Netflix and a second in the works. The show stars Jenna Ortega as the indomitable Wednesday Addams, who finds herself attending her parents' alma mater, Nevermore Academy, and getting sucked into a dangerous mystery.

Wednesday's Marilyn Thornhill, played by The Addams Family's very own Wednesday, Christina Ricci, was an engaging and shocking character. For most of the season, she appeared to be a kind professor, however by the end, she turned out to be the major villain of the season.

 Thornhill, who actually was Laurel Gates, the final descendant of the evil Joseph Crackstone, intended to take down the outcasts at Wednesday's Nevermore Academy and Wednesday Addams herself by controlling the Hyde and bringing her pilgrim ancestor back to life. Although she ultimately failed in her mission, Thornhill isn't dead, leaving the opportunity for her to return with even more power up her sleeves.
