Wednesday finally surpasses Stranger Things on Netflix's most popular shows chart, but there's a twist. Premiering in 2016 and 2022 respectively, Stranger Things and Wednesday have emerged as two of the streamer's flagship shows.

 The former follows the small town of Hawkins as it fends off evil forces from the Upside Down, while the Addams Family spinoff revolves around its titular character, played by Jenna Ortega, as she solves a murder mystery at her new school.

Netflix recently adjusted its viewership metric, prompting a major shakeup among its all-time list of most popular shows. As a result, Wednesday season 1 has officially surpassed Stranger Things season 4 as their most popular English-language show. Netflix now measures its most popular shows by total "views" rather than "hours viewed," and looks at a title's first 91 days of availability. Wednesday has scored 252.1 million views, while Stranger Things season 4 is at 140.7 million.
